New DVD Release Tuesday!

Today Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs comes out on DVD! I never got a chance to see this in the theatre so I am very anxious to get my Blu-ray version of the film today. I heard it is the best one of the three films. Also knowing that there were a bunch of AM students that worked on this film is a HUGE inspiration! I suggest you all go out and pick up a copy today.

Time flies...

...when you're having fun, and this week I had a blast! This week, my shot, which has been in the works for two weeks now, I decided to start over from scratch. It was a lot of work and risky time wise, but I do not regret doing it at all! I think the shot looks and feels a lot better now and it was good for me to be able to get more practice in. This week I feel as though the lightbulb went off in my head and I am starting to feel like I might actually be able to do this stuff! I'm really looking forward to this coming week and to see what I can do with this shot taking it into final.. stay tuned!

Week 3

Week 3 has come and gone already and boy.. do I have a lot of work to do. My second pass on my shot revealed that there is just too much going on in the shot and it's not reading as clear as it should. I really need to rip this apart and fix it.

Week 1.. DONE!

Week 1 is over. This week we had to design a shot with two distinct beats or feelings in the shot. The basic story for my shot is this... The character is over the top excited about receiving a gift. After inspecting the gift he is very confident that it is something he has been wanting for a very long time. He rips open the box and whips out a sock. Yep.. a sock! Realizing that it is NOT something he was looking forward to getting, our character has a little fit, slamming the sockdown onto the table. He bows his head, shaking it from left to right in disgust and finally extreme disappointment as he slouches over.

Here are my thumbnails I did for the shot to help realize what I wanted out of it.
